Built by People Who Train

Toro BJJ gear is developed by people who understand what hard rounds do to a gi, rash guard, or pair of shorts. We train, coach, and compete alongside the same community we serve. That experience guides the fit, materials, and construction behind the gear we put our name on.

Getting Ready to Compete?

Competition gear has to meet the rules and perform when it matters. Shop IBJJF-approved gis, ranked rash guards, belts, and no-gi gear selected for tournament preparation.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gear FAQs

What gear do I need for my first BJJ class?

For a gi class, you will need a properly fitted BJJ gi and belt. For no-gi training, wear a rash guard with grappling shorts or spats. Avoid clothing with pockets, zippers, or anything that could catch during training.

How should a BJJ gi fit?

Your gi should allow you to move freely without feeling excessively loose. The sleeves and pants should provide adequate coverage without extending too far over your hands or feet. Check the product size chart because fit can vary between gi models.

What should I wear for no-gi Jiu-Jitsu?

A fitted rash guard and grappling shorts are the most common choice. The clothing should stay close to your body, handle sweat, and allow unrestricted movement without exposed zippers or loose pockets.

Can I use the same gear for training and competition?

Many products can be used for both, but tournaments may have specific requirements covering colors, fit, rank markings, and uniform condition. Always check the current rules for your tournament before competing.

How should I wash my BJJ gear?

Wash gis, rash guards, shorts, and other training clothing after every session. Use cold water and follow the care instructions on the product. Avoid high heat unless the label allows it, because excessive heat can damage fabric, elastic, prints, or cause unwanted shrinking.
